Central Florida Strategies has been a leading advocate in the effort to defer or reduce impact fees as a way to stimulate economic development and job growth in Central Florida.

• In 2009, Central Florida Strategies coordinated the lobbying efforts to defer impact fees for a period of 54 months. As a result, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners voted to adopt an ordinance known as the Workforce Housing Pilot Program, whereas a multifamily developer can request a deferral of impact fees for an extended period of time.

• Most recently, Central Florida Strategies was active in the efforts to have the Orange County Government and the Orange County School Board reduce the impact fee amounts due on residential and commercial development. On March 29, 2011, for the first time ever, the Orange County Commission voted unanimously to reduce impact fees by 25%.

Central Florida Strategies is also involved in the real estate community through various organizations that include;

• International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC)
• Urban Land Institute (ULI)
• National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP)
• Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM)
• Florida Redevelopment Association (FRA)
• Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando (HBA)
