Planning is underway on a new apartment complex near the new Florida HospitalApopka, the first phase of a larger, mixed-use development envisioned for the area.
Winter Park-based MMI Development Inc. plans to develop Marden Ridge, a new 272-unit apartment complex on Marden Road near the intersection of the Maitland Boulevard extension and the Western Beltway, or State Road 429. Construction is slated to start late next year on the estimated $43.5 million project.
“We are very excited about our additional investment in Apopka and feel that the area will be one of Central Florida’s hot spots for new development over the next decade,” said Michael Wright, president of MMI Development in a prepared statement. “With the opening of the new Florida Hospital, plus other medical related companies eyeing Apopka, the area is poised for tremendous growth.”
